Internal Arteriovenous Fistula for Hemodialysis

Abstract
Thirty three cases of arteriovenous fistula were collected at the Gyeongsang national university hospital. There were two cases of fistula failure within two months. We tried to find that the conditions such as blood pressure, BUN and cr. level, diabetes could affect the result of arteriovenous fistula. As for the blood pressure, there was no difference between normotensive and hypertensive patients. There was not any fistula occlusion in the group of patients with high level of BUN and Cr., compared to two cases of early fistula failure in the group with low level. The patients who failed in arteriovenous fistula operation were all non-diabetes, but it does not tell us that non-diabetes is more susceptible to fistula occlusion because of small sample size diabetic group. In this study, early thrombosis of arteriovenous fistula were presumed to be the result of technical problem.
